I have been working on cars since I was a kid and started out working in a body shop in 1980 which eventually led me to became an ASE Master Collision Repair/Refinish Technician.

I have been working on cars since I was a kid and started out working in a body shop in 1980 which eventually led me to became an ASE Master Collision Repair/Refinish Technician.
I have held most positions in a body shop and even owned and operated one of my own. I began learning the art of Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) while I was employed with Ellis and Salazar on S. Congress in Austin not to mention that paintless dent repair in Austin was still relatively new or even unheard of for the most part. Now hail repair in Austin was also not really understood especially the idea that someone could go and take a metal stick and magically make hail dents disappear. Simply put, I had a canvas of cars in front of me that needed body filler but I was bound and determined to use the least amount of filler as possible for many of my repairs. I knew eventually I would be good enough to repair a dent without painting it and leaving the original finish intact. Practice over the years on these cars and trucks made for a much better repair for the the car. Besides in practice, what didn't come out perfect was going to get painted anyway. Now I've been pushing metal since 2001 and now have mastered the art of PDR for a few years now and have truly found my passion. Now currently operating my own company MrDentz LLC. Having worked on motorcycle customizing, restoring and painting gave me the knowledge and experience in understanding of what goes into customizing a bike. There are special techniques used to PDR gas tanks and fenders so extreme care must be taken. Most of the bikes today, because of the electronic fuel injection system, makes way for a large opening to access the damage on most tanks.
